A note on gauge anomaly cancellation in effective field theories

The conditions for the absence of gauge anomalies in effective field theories (EFT) are rivisited. General results from cohomology BRST operator do not prevent potential arising non-renormalizable sector, when group is semi-simple, like Standard Model EFT (SMEFT). By considering a simple explicit model that mimics SMEFT properties, we compute anomaly regularized theory, including complete set dimension six operators. We show dependence on part can be removed by adding local counterterm to theory. As result condition cancellation completely controlled charge assignment fermion as renormalizable
